Why doesn’t this page list the hourly rate?
Rates vary by county and change when local agreements change. A reprinted number goes stale. CDSS publishes the current table. The county can confirm it.
Is the CareScout home-care median an IHSS wage?
No. CareScout private-pay medians on the cost pages are planning estimates for licensed home care. They are not an IHSS paycheck and they are not a county rate.
Which county’s wage applies if I commute?
The county where the person who needs care lives. An adult child who works in another county does not create a second wage table.
Can a share of cost change what the provider receives?
Yes. CDSS explains that unpaid Medi-Cal share of cost can be deducted from the provider warrant, and the recipient then pays that amount to the provider. Ask the county whether a share of cost applies.
