This page is educational. It is not county advice, a Medi-Cal determination, an hours authorization, or a wage quote. Your county IHSS office and Medi-Cal decide eligibility, hours, and who can be paid. Licensed facilities and home care agencies decide their own admissions and private-pay terms. County IHSS staff decide whether a home-care file is complete and which tasks to authorize. County Medi-Cal staff decide Medi-Cal eligibility and share of cost. New case, have not appliedThe parent does not have an IHSS case yet. You are lining up Medi-Cal and the first county packet.Already applied, waitingSOC 295 is in, and the family is waiting on the health cert, a complete-packet letter, or a visit date.Stuck on the health certificationThe application is moving, and SOC 873 is the piece that has not come back from a clinician.Provider enrollmentSomeone, often an adult child, expects to be the paid individual provider after the county notice.Assessment is comingA social worker is scheduled, or you were told a visit is next. Forms should already be in the file.Notice of Action receivedThe county mailed a notice. That page is the authorized plan.
